DAY 01

BIA > Chillaw > Anuradhapura

Welcome and Pick-up from Colombo International Airport (Based on a morning arriving flight and if you are arriving on an evening flight, we will customize your itinerary accordingly) and drive to Anuradhapura en route visit Muneshwaram Temple and Manvari Hindu Temple.

Munneswaram Temple

Known as one of the most important Pancha Ishwara Hindu kovil in Sri Lanka located in a city call chillaw and 80km from Colombo the commercial capital of Sri Lanka.Pancha Ishwara Hindu temples are dedicated to Ishwara in the form of god Shiva and other 4 temples are Naguleswaram Temple Jaffna, Koneswaram Temple Trincomalee, Tondeswaram Temple Matara ( Tenavaram) and Ketheeswaram Temple Mannar Sri Lanka. In tamil meaning of “Mun” is long time ago and “Eswaram” means Shiva temple. This is the place where Rama prayed to God shiva asking for a remedy to get rid from his dosham (Brahmahasthi Dosham).

Manavari Hindu Temple

Also, known as Ramalingam because this lingam was erected by Rama. This is the first place where the lord Rama installed and prayed the Shiva lingam after the war end. This important Hindu temple is located in a city called Puttalam District of North Western province Sri Lanka.

Anuradhapura > Jaffna

After breakfast at the hotel check out and explore Anuradhapura Ruin Kingdom on completion drive to Jaffna.

Anuradhapura Ruin City

As the first kingdom of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura is a well- preserved city that reveals ancient Sri Lankan architectural and cultural/religious aspects. A well-known world heritage site on the island and elements/attractions that you can see here include Stupas, temples, tanks, statues, and many more. Since this is a city that highlights how Sri Lanka was in the past, you will need a guide who can explain all in detail to you. Jaffna

After breakfast at the hotel visit Nagapooshani Amman Temple Nainativu Island Jaffna , Nallur Kandaswamy Temple and Jaffna Fort.

Nagapooshani Amman Temple Nainativu Island Jaffna

Shree Nagapooshani Amman Temple located 36km away from Jaffna city in an island call Nainativu and this kovil is one of the 64 Shakthi Peeth in the region and is dedicated to goodness Parvati. Nainativu Island is also known as Nagadeepa and there is a Buddhist Temple located called Nagadeepa Purana Viharaya one of the most visited important Buddhist Temples in Sri Lanka. Nagapooshani Amman Temple opening daily 6.30 A.M to 12.30 P.M 4.30 P.M to 7.30 P.M (Pooja timings: 7.00 A.M, Noon and 5.00 A.M) and appropriate clothing should be worn when visting this kovil.

Jaffna Dutch Fort

One of Sri Lanka’s best-preserved colonial fortifications, Jaffna Fort, was erected by the Portuguese in the 17th century. The Dutch took over the Jaffna Fort from the Portuguese and made it into the famous landmark it is today. It is spread out along the southeast edge of the northern capital, Jaffna. After the Dutch left, the British took over and continued to utilize the Jaffna Fort as a bastion until the country of Sri Lanka gained its independence in 1948. 

Nallur Kandaswamy Temple

The Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil is one of the most important kovils in Sri Lanka. It is about 3 km from the town of Jaffna. The kovil, built in the 15th century to honor Lord Murugan, the Hindu deity of battle, love, and beauty, has a stunning array of Dravidian-style arches and colors. At the entrance to the kovil, which is located on the dry ground, there are golden pillars that glow brilliantly and stand tall.

DAY 04

Jaffna > Trincomalee

After breakfast at the hotel check out and drive to Jaffna and visit Kanniya Hot Water Spring Trincomalee and koneswaram Temple.

Kanniya Hot Water Spring Trincomalee

Located in the Trincomalee District of Sri Lanka’s Eastern Province, Kanniya Hot Springs is a place containing hot water wells. These wells have an average temperature of 42 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature may vary by one or two degrees from one well to the next. The Kanniya hot springs in Trincomalee are a renowned tourist spot for both locals and visitors from across the world. The Pradeshiya Sabha (Local Council) of Trincomalee is in charge of this right now. 

Koneswaram Temple

An impressive medieval temple worth visiting, and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Since the temple is on a rock, the Rock Temple is another name given for it, and the history suggests that it has been there since the 15th century. Stunning views of the ocean and people selling sea shells enhance the authenticity of the temple. All in all, the Koneswaram Temple is an impressive one with pretty views.

Trincomalee > Sigiriya

Morning go for snorkeling at Pigeon Island (Optional) on completion drive to Sigiriya evening climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Pigeon Island Trinco (Optional)

A national park that is pretty close to one of the best beaches on the island, the Nilaveli Beach, and this 471.429-hectares national park holds one of the coral reefs of Sri Lanka. Back in 1963, the officials named it a sanctuary and in 2003, designated as a national park. The latest statistics say that over 100 coral species and 300 hundred coral reef fishes currently found in the national park. Scuba diving is an adventurous activity that you can take part in the park’s diving site. In summary, make sure you visit this charming national park when you visit the beautiful Nilaveli beach.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

After breakfast at the hotel check out and drive to kandy en route visit Dambulla Cave Temple and do Spice Garden Excursion (Optional). Evening visit Kandyan Cultural Show. (Optional).

Dambulla Cave Temple

The golden temple of Dambulla is another name given for this ancient temple, which has a significant value in terms of religious and architectural wonders. As the hugest and best-preserved cave-temple on the island, it holds five ancient Buddha sculptures and over 1,500 Buddha paintings. The history of the cave-complex runs for over 2,700 years; even before Buddhism came to the country, and the remaining that we can see even today reveal a lot about that great past. Kandy > Hasalaka > Kandy

After breakfast at the hotel visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic on completion drive to Hasalaka and explore Sita Kotuwa and drive back to Kandy.

Sita Kotuwa / Sita Matha’s Court

The meaning of Sita Kotuwa is Sita Fortress and it is believed Sita Kotuwa is one of the places where princess Sita was kept by King Ravana. Kandy > Ramboda > Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast at the hotel check out and visit Gem Museum (Optional) on completion drive to Nuwara Eliya en route visit Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, Ramboda waterfalls and Tea Factory. Evening explore Nuwara Eliya City.

Ceylon Gem Museum

Since the ancient times, Sri Lanka is a renowned country for the gem industry. Three known gems museums are there in the country; in Colombo, Kandy, and Ratnapura, and the one in Ratnapura is the prime one as Ratnapura is the city of gems on the island. You can witness many valuable gem types in these museums, and learn a lot about

different gem types as well. Anyway, don’t visit a city just for visiting one of these museums as the time/duration that you can spend in these places can be just a few hours; hence keep it as one attraction on your places-to-visit list.

Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple Ramboda

Located in a village called Ramboda along the Kandy – Nuwara Eliya main road which gives the travelers the opportunity to explore this temple during their journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya or Nuwara Eliya to Ella. Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple is one of the important Hanuman Temples in Sri Lanka. It is believed that Hanuman was searching for Sita Devi and still there are some Ramayana facts available in this area and this temple is open every day from 7.00 A.M to 1.00 P.M and 3.30 P.M to 6.30 P.M and all visitors should be appropriately dressed when visiting the temple.

Ramboda Falls

The 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and this 109-meter tall, charming waterfall is in Pussellawa. Panna Oya is the creating source of this beautiful waterfall. It is safe to say that this travel attraction is one of the highest-rated ones on the island; hence witnessing it when you visit Nuwara Eliya region is highly advisable. Nuwara Eliya > Ella

After breakfast at the hotel check out and visit Sita Temple and Hakgala Botanical Gardens (Ashok Vatika) on completion drive to ella evening visit Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adams Peak.

Sita Amman Temple Sri Lanka

Located 5 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya City and this temple is the only Hindu Temple which dedicated to Princess Sita in Sri Lanka and the foot prints of loard Hanuman’s can be found in the stream close to the Sita Amman Temple.it is believed that the Sita devi was kept captive at this site by King Ravana.The Temple is open 365 days and has two puja times in the morning and evening and you can visit this temple with no entrance fee and all visitors should be decently to explore the temple.

Hakgala Botanical Garden

The second Largest Botanical Garden in Sri Lanka and one of the five botanical gardens in the country. Located on the Nuwara Eliya – Badulla main road and 16 km drive from Nuwara Eliya City which gives travelers the opportunity to explore this amazing place when they are at Nuwara Eliya. As it locates 5400 feet above the sea level the garden has a cool climate. This place mention as Ashoka Vatika in the Ramayana and it says king Ravana kept Sita hidden in this area and was offerd to sita as a pleasure garden.

The Nine Arch Bridge

The Nine Arch Bridge is a magnificent tribute to the technical and architectural excellence of the early 20th century. It was commissioned by the British in the year 1921, and it has stood proudly ever since. The bridge is conveniently located between the Ella and Demodara train stations. If you choose to walk across it, you can enjoy views of rolling hills and dense jungle. This is also known as the most scenic train in the world.

Little Adams Peak

One of the most amazing things to do in Ella is hike up Little Adam’s Peak in Sri Lanka. You won’t need a guide to reach the summit since there is a well-defined trail that winds its way up the mountain. And there are plenty of signposts along the route to point you in the right direction. Ella > Kataragama > Tissamaharama

After breakfast at the hotel check out and drive to Tissamaharama en route visit Ravana Falls, Ravana Caves, Divurumpola Temple and Katirkāmam Murugan Kovil (Kataragama Temple).

Ravana Falls

One of the most famous sighting attractions in Sri Lanka, which is one of the broadest falls on the island. This 25-meter waterfall changes its shape throughout the raining and dry seasons. As you know, Ella is a beautiful town that contains many tourists’ attractions, and the Ravana Falls, which is just six kilometers from the iconic local railway station is a sight that you shouldn’t miss when visiting the region. The Ravana Ella Cave is another attraction that has a significant cultural value as according to the Ramayanaya Legend, the great Sri Lankan king Ravana kidnapped princess Sita and hid her in this cave.

Ravana Cave Ella

A massive tunnel network created by king Ravana located in ella sri lanka connecting cities, dairy farms and airports. It shows the architectural brilliance of King Ravana. It is believed that princess Sita was kept captive in a cave when Rama invaded the island along with his army. This site can be accessed by driving 3km from Ella and you have to trek uphill about 2kms.

Divurumpola Temple

Divurumpola means a “Place of oath” and Divurumpola Temple considered the place where Sita underwent the famous fire ordeal Agni Pariksha or “Agni” test to prove her chastity to God Rama. This temple is located in a city called Welimada and easily accessible when you are at Ella.

Katirkāmam Murugan Kovil (Kataragama Temple)

Katirkāmam Murugan Kovil located in a city called kataragama Monaragala District of Uva Province Sri Lanka. This is one of the few temples in sri lanka that venerated by the Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and the Vedda people. The Temple attracted Tamil Hindus from Sri Lanka and South India who undertook an arduous pilgrimage on foot. Since the latter half of the 20th century.

Yala National Park

As the most-visited national park in Sri Lanka, this national park consists of five blocks of which two blocks opened to the public. Bentota > Galle > Bentota

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Galle and explore Rumassala and Galle Fort on completion drive back to bentota en route visit Madu River Boat Safari and Sea Turtle Conservation Center.

Rumassala Sanjeevani Mountain

A beautiful mountain located in the east of galle in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It is believed that this abnormal geographical piece to be fallen down when Hanuman carried the Dronagiri when he fly back to Lanka Pura in order to lifesaving Sanjeevani herbs to rescue Lakshman and Rama to be treated after suffering serve injuries at the war.

Galle Fort

All traveler’s photos and captions tell the story of the Dutch Fort in Galle, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was first erected as part of the Portuguese conquests that began in the 16th century. But it was subsequently strengthened and seized by Dutch forces in the 17th century. Historically, for over two centuries, the port of Galle’s old town served as a major trade center for spices and other commodities.

Madu River Safari

This is a river safari that lets you witness swampy marshlands covered in mangrove forests, various animal species including mammals, birds, and reptiles.
